Erwin’s earliest visual training came from his passion for mountaineering, biking, and the outdoors. Chasing the sun across raw landscapes taught him how to read natural light and shoot in highly unpredictable conditions. This rugged adaptability paved the way for a successful career in photojournalism, where his documentary work captured the grit and reality of daily life for major Philippine broadsheets like The Manila Times, Manila Bulletin, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The Editorial & Fine Art Refinement
If the outdoors taught him speed and instinct, his transition into lifestyle and editorial publishing taught him precision. Erwin spent years shooting architecture, interiors, travel, and portraiture for leading glossies like Rogue, Men’s Health, and Good Housekeeping.
In this space, he developed an acute understanding of geometry and negative space, skills that eventually led him to photograph for prominent fine-art and architectural books. His lens is responsible for the imagery in Jose Maria V. Zaragoza: Architecture for God, For Man and BenCab’s Nude Drawings—projects that demand a meticulous, almost reverent approach to shape, shadow, and subject.

- Fine Arts foundation: Her fine arts background shapes her approach to composition, color theory, texture, and light, allowing her to design visually compelling, dimensional sets.
Instead of relying purely on artificial tricks, her philosophy centers on showcasing food as naturally yet artfully as possible—preserving authentic textures and innate appetite appeal while keeping it pristine for the camera.
